Here’s a fascinating little thing: a panel from Aquaman #50 drawn by the late, great Jim Aparo in 1970. Note that the background, far from being a merely abstract design, is actually made up from the names a various DC creative luminaries of the period. (Dick) Dillin, (E Nelson) Bridwell, (Wallace) Wood, (Bill) Draut, (Frank) Thorne, (Frank) Robbins, (Pat) Boyette, (Steve) Skeates, and (John) Broome are just a few of the names that make an appearance here.
