Hot Wheels is a rather lovely little series from 1970 that featured some stunning art. The stories — concerning the adventures of a group of fast car enthusiasts — are solid and entertaining, but the main reason to check this out is the penmanship of Alex Toth and Neal Adams. Toth could draw someone reading a phone book and make it look interesting, and Adams was at the height of his powers. Based on a toy line and a barely remembered cartoon show, Hot Wheels only lasted six issues. Which is a bit of a shame.

Still, it’d make for a nice trade paperback should some enterprising soul like to make it so.
