Sinister House of Secret Love #3, March 1972

Another very striking cover from this Gothic Romance title. No idea who the artist is — it might just be a maniputed photo for all I know. Lovely stuff though, and very atmospheric.

The interior art here certainly isn’t a disappointment. The full-length tale, “Bride of the Falcon”, is illustrated by none other than Alex Toth! One of the few full-length tales he ever did, and it’s a beautiful piece of work. It’s scripted by Frank Robbins, who was probably most famous as a newspaper strip artist (Johnny Hazard), and later as artist on WW2-set Invaders from Marvel, but at this time he was moonlighting for DC as a writer. He wrote the Man-Bat stories illustrated by Neal Adams, for instance.
