Flash #127

… it’s been ages since I featured a gorilla cover on this blog. So, here you go: Flash #127, March 1962. This was edited by Julie Schwartz, and ’twas he who originally noticed that a gorilla on the cover increased sales of a given comic. The gorilla in question here is Grodd, who was a familiar figure in Flash stories. He went on to a long and distinguished career at DC Comics, and still pops up from time to time.

No word, however, on whether Schwartz’s maxim still holds true.
