Nice ad for DC’s Korak title, featuring art by Frank Thorne, Al Weiss and Mike Kaluta. While editor Joe Kubert handled the Tarzan book solo, he hired many a fledgling — though promising — talent for Korak. Of course, it didn’t hurt that Thorne and Kaluta had art styles not dissimilar to Kubert’s own. It was a nice book, Korak, but, sadly, it didn’t last very long, morphing eventually into the catch-all Tarzan Family. By that time people like Alex Nino were drawing the adventures of Tarzan’s boy, with fairly bizarre results.

Still, if you fancy some striking art and stirring tales, you can’t go far wrong seeking out this book.
