I’m back, following my jaunt home to Wales to attend a Doctor Who convention. And rather brilliant it was too.

Noodling around the internet, I just came across this site which offers old British comics for sale.

There are also some fairly in depth articles on the history of some of the featured comics. As the shop deals pretty much exclusively with comics published prior to 1965, very few were still being published when  I was at the peak of my childhood buying, but it’s nice to see the range of material that existed in the halcyon days of yore.

I’ve seen grown men go all misty-eyed at the mere mention of titles such as the Magnet, Wizard, and Hotspur. In much the same way as I get goose pimples thinking about Lion and Thunder, Vulcan, Bullet, and Starlord. All comics that covered my bedroom floor back in the day.

Heck, they still cover my bedroom floor today — but they’re far more expensive copies these days! Interesting isn’t it? As a kid, you can’t wait to grow up, yet, as an adult you spend much of your time trying to recapture the past…
