ad for DC's Scooter

Coming from April 1966, around the time the Fab Four were planning the end of their touring days, this ad promotes the arrival of DC’s answer to the Beatles: Scooter. Any doubts about the intent ought to be swept away by the clear likeness of Paul McCartney right there in the middle! Created by Barbara Friedlander, Jack Miller and Joe Orlando, Scooter was a young British musician who came to America to find fame and fortune. His title (Swing With Scooter) lasted for 36 issues, well into the early 1970s — by which time his mop-top inspirations had themselves scaled untold heights of musical greatness and drifted apart.
