Scrappy Doo and Uncle

Recently, on his most excellent blog News From Me, Mark Evanier has been running a series of articles about his involvement in the creation of that oft-loathed cartoon mutt, Scrappy Doo. Here’s the latest one:

I do remember watching the first episode of Scooby Doo that featured Scrappy. I suppose I was around twelve at the time and I just heted the new character. Previously I’d always had a soft spot for the antics of Scooby and Shaggy, but once the idiotic Scrappy came along I found it increasingly tough going. More evidence, I suppose, that I was outgrowing kids’ TV by that point.
