X-Factor #11

X-Factor #11, December 1986

One of the reasons it’s been a bit quiet around here of late is that I’ve been busy beavering away on an article about the origins of X-Factor. First appearing in their eponymous comic in February 1986, X-Factor was, of course, in reality the original X-Men in disguise. Bob Layton and Jackson Guice created the team, but after less than a year both men were gone to be replaced by the husband and wife team of Louise and Walt Simonson. The story behind the creation of the book is an interesting one, full of twists and turns.
My article will appear in Back Issue #29, published by Twomorrows.

The cover shown here is a fine example of Walt Simonson’s energetic style.
